Breast Lift

— mastopexy · restore youthful contour and position

A breast lift (mastopexy) with Dr. Scottsdale® lifts sagging tissue, reshapes the breast, and repositions the nipple-areolar complex to restore a more youthful contour. Four incision patterns — crescent, donut, lollipop, anchor — chosen by the degree of correction needed.

What it is

A breast lift surgically corrects sagging breast tissue and repositions downward-pointing or low-positioned nipples. After pregnancy, breastfeeding, significant weight change, or simply aging, breast tissue and skin lose elasticity. A lift removes the excess skin, reshapes the underlying tissue, and elevates the nipple-areolar complex to a more youthful position.

Four incision patterns

Crescent lift — a small incision along the top edge of the areola, for very mild sagging or asymmetry correction. Peri-areolar (donut) lift — a circle around the areola; good for mild-to-moderate sag. Vertical (lollipop) lift — around the areola and down to the inframammary fold; the most common pattern for moderate ptosis. Anchor (inverted-T) lift — the full pattern (around areola, vertical, and along the fold); used for significant tissue descent and large-volume reshaping.

Dr. Scottsdale® selects the smallest pattern necessary to achieve the correction. The conservative-incision principle reduces scar burden without compromising the surgical result.

Lift alone or with implants?

A lift alone reshapes and repositions existing tissue but doesn't add volume. Patients who have lost volume from pregnancy or weight change — or who simply want more fullness — often combine the lift with implants (silicone or saline) in a single operation. That combination produces both lifted position and restored upper-pole fullness.

Recovery

Most patients return to desk work in 7–10 days and to full activity over 4–6 weeks. The surgical bra is worn continuously for 4–6 weeks. Scars are pink and firm for the first 3–6 months, then fade significantly through the first year and continue improving through ~18 months. Final shape is visible around 3 months as swelling fully resolves.
