Dr. Mata completed his plastic surgery training across some of the most respected institutions in American medicine — the University of Texas Medical Branch, Saint Joseph Medical Center, and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, followed by training at Harvard's Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He then completed an aesthetic surgery fellowship in Miami, Florida, focused exclusively on cosmetic technique.
That breadth of training — reconstructive cancer surgery alongside high-volume aesthetic work — shaped a surgical philosophy that prioritizes both safety and artistry. The Scottsdale Skinny® and Gladiator® were both developed out of the conviction that comprehensive single-session contouring, properly planned, is safer and more aesthetic than serial staged operations.
In 2017 Dr. Mata founded Natural Results Plastic Surgery in North Scottsdale. The practice serves Scottsdale, Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Tempe, Mesa, and the broader Valley — plus a substantial out-of-state and international patient base that travels in for the trademarked signature procedures. The accredited operating suite is on-site at 7930 E Thompson Peak Parkway.
